Unfortunately, it will be necessary to resurface the area outside Windy Ridge in Dover Road again due to defective material and this will need another short road closure to carry out this work.
The work has been programmed for Saturday 29 June. As the road needs to be closed the contractor will take the opportunity to complete the finishing works to the verge alongside the school and installation of road studs whilst the road is closed.
The closure will be in place from 0730 to 1700 between Burgoyne Heights and St Martins Road. The replacement of the surfacing outside Windy Ridge will not start until 9am and is expected to be complete by approximately 2pm, after which access to Old Charlton Road can be provided.
A letter drop will be carried out to affected residents later this week and advance warning signs will also be placed on site. The contractor will also maintain access through the closure for the bus.
If the contractor is not able to complete the verge works on the Saturday, then they will return on Sunday 30 June to complete any outstanding works under 2 way signals.
