Chalkpit Solar Farm Construction Programme – November W1 Update

SOLAR FARM CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME

As with the previous update, our current planning for the solar farm construction is that work relating to the DNO (Electricity company) substation is being undertaken first. The cable work is now almost complete and work on the substations will start soon.

The perimeter deer fencing has now been installed and the gates are in the process of being installed.

The formation of the temporary construction access (on The Lane near Deal Road) is now scheduled for 17th November and all deliveries will now occur here. Track mats will be used for the temporary construction track and tipper lorries will start delivering the stones for the formation of the internal tracks within the solar site. The plan below shows the location on the Lane near Deal Road where the road closure will occur from the 17th.

On days when there are no deliveries this section of The Lane will be reopened. The traffic management company will be placing temporary traffic diversion signs alongside the road in parts of the village for car drivers who seek to enter the village from Deal Road – which would now need to be from Solton Lane. We would expect this to be low numbers of local resident traffic, some of which may temporarily change their travel routing arrangements.
