Guston, Kingsdown &St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe Newsletter for March 2025.

This month the Dover Neighbourhood Team have been joined by four new probationers. They will be working alongside us for the next 3 months to complete the next chapter of their training. This is a great opportunity for the new recruits to learn about the thread of neighbourhood policing, which is a vital role in supporting the local community. Each new officer will be allocated a tutor, so PC Bowler and I will be joined by PC Burrin over the next few months. Please come and say ‘hello’ when you see us out on patrol.

There have been 86 calls to Guston, Kingsdown, St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe from 1st March to the 31st March 2025.

Incidents of note:

10/03/2025 and 16/03/2025 – Nuisance Vehicles – Coldblow Woods. Reports of nuisance vehicles in the area. One of the off-road bikes believed to be involved in was stopped in Deal, the rider was reported for traffic offence matters and the bike was seized.

26/03/2025 – Burglary – St Margarets. Overnight a quadbike and trailer were stolen from a horse-riding stable.

Crime Prevention Advice

Protecting your property from potential thieves: 

• Installation of CCTV / alarms and motion detecting lights on the outside of your property.
• Keep high-value items out of view from people who may be looking in.
• Consider marking property this makes your valuables less attractive to thieves by using a property or police approved forensic marking solution only visible under Ultraviolet (UV) light. This can take the form of a special marker using ink or paint. Mark or etch your property with your postcode, house, or flat number or the first three letters of your address. All of these measures help police identify stolen goods, making it harder for thieves to sell.
