National Rural Crime Action Week 2026 takes place from 6 to 11 September.

This national campaign aims to raise awareness of rural crime issues and ensure that rural communities have a strong voice in discussions about the future of policing.

A campaign pack has been produced containing resources, suggested activities, social media content, campaign themes and guidance on engaging local media. You can access the campaign pack here: NRCN Action Week Campaign Pack 2026

Much of the campaign is about making communities aware that this is National Rural Crime Action Week, so it would be fantastic if councils could help spread the message by:

  • Sharing campaign messages and resources on council websites and social media channels.
  • Including information in newsletters and community bulletins.
  • Displaying campaign posters on noticeboards and in community facilities.
  • Raising awareness at council meetings and local events taking place during the week (and beyond 😊)
  • Encouraging residents to report rural crime.

Even small actions can help highlight the impact of rural crime on communities and support the ongoing work of rural policing partnerships. Thank you for any support you are able to provide.
