The voice of local people.

All members of the public are entitled to attend the meeting and are cordially invited by the Council to do so.  Time will be set aside prior to the published agenda to enable informal discussion to take place.

Public Participation at Parish Council Meetings

In order that the Parish business is carried out in an orderly manner, members of the public are respectfully reminded of the information related to Public Participation detailed in the Standing Orders for Guston Parish Council (July 2019): A full version is available on the Parish website.

Members of the public are entitled to attend the meeting but can only ask questions during public participation – they cannot contribute/ask questions at any other point during the meeting.

a.Members of the public may make representations, answer questions and give evidence at a meeting which they are entitled to attend in respect of the business on the agenda.

b. The period of time designated for public participation at a meeting in accordance with standing order 3(e) shall not exceed 15 minutes unless directed by the chair of the meeting.

c.  A member of the public shall not speak for more than 3 minutes.  They may ask questions (one or    two norm) and NO statements.

d. In accordance with standing order (a) above, a question shall not require a response at the meeting   nor start a debate on the question. The chair of the meeting may direct that a written or oral response be given.

Your email will be directed to the appropriate Cllr.  Please note that any resident who has a concern should raise this at a scheduled meeting or via email contact. In the interests of safety and security no Cllr will receive residents at their homes. If there is an emergency situation this should be directed to the police.
