Please find attached the engagement pack received from the DfT which includes a formal letter, maps and feedback form for interested parties to respond to the information.
The Parish Council is distributing this as it is aware that not all of you will be sent hard copies of documentation. The DfT are requesting that as many as possible respond via the online portal and the letter includes the link to this. They also suggested that if you have already been in touch with them you should submit your comments again during this engagement period. The PC expressed their dismay that people are being asked to duplicate what they have already raised.
It was during a meeting yesterday morning that the PC was made aware of some of the details included in the engagement pack and we shall be contacting the DfT with some significant concerns that have arisen as a result of what we have seen.
The re-routing of the public right of way will add to the problems already facing the residents of St Martin’s Road.
Using the proposed Dover Fastrack road to access the site is also a major issue- this was never part of the original design for this road. Guston PC has already been in contact with DDC regarding this change/addition to the original consultation urging them to consider this a significant deviation from the original planning application.
These are just two of the points we will be raising and I’m sure there will be more once we have been able to study the engagement pack in detail. Please, please keep making your voices heard. The media are now starting to take more interest in our plight so let’s work together to make the DfT reconsider.
